I met Sarah at the Grafton Book Sale Fundraiser. She was a local artist that designed a variety of bookmarks to help with the library's fundraiser efforts. While getting to know her, she shared stories about her unique family and the kindness she experienced in this neighborhood throughout the years she's lived here. In those brief moments, I saw her hope, her excitement, and an openness to connect to encourage others. I saw compassion.
Compassion
by Miller Williams
Have compassion for everyone you meet, even if they don’t want it. What seems conceit, bad manners, or cynicism is always a sign of things no ears have heard, no eyes have seen. You do not know what wars are going on down there where the spirit meets the bone.
